Welcome to CaiE's Oriental Café

At CaiE's Double Diamond Ranch restaurant, CaiE's Oriental Café, the proof is on the wall, as well as on the table."Because I am an amateur artist, everything had to be art," CaiE said. Before opening in May, CaiE handpicked every aspect of her establishment. She chose the precise marble for the tabletops (and had it cut to spec), selected the perfect tea pots and chose the right dishware. And then she took out her paint brush.

Caie's Oriental Cafe RenoFor two months CaiE worked on replicating the historical Chinese painting "Quingming Upper Riverside Scene", all nine panels of which now hang in the restaurant's dining room. CaiE ties it altogether: "To me, eating is art." But that art is not limited to the atmosphere. At CaiE's, the cuisine - from the selection of fresh, authentic ingredients to its meticulous presentation - is paramount. "We focus on fresh, quality ingredients," CaiE said. "If you make quality food, the people will come."

From Peking duck - in half or whole portions, served with handmade buns, green onions and hoisin sauce- to chicken breast in a lemon sauce that is made with fresh lemons, CaiE's is packed with options for diners. The most popular items on the menu are the dim sum, with an expanded dim sum menu served on the weekends, she said.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, patrons can choose from a list of 34 dim sum options, including pan-fried turnip cakes, shrimp and pork dumplings (siu mai), shrimp dumplings (har gow) and sticky rice in a lotus leaf.
